We are a Cooperative that continues to look to the future, living in the present and preserving all the best of the past.
Gandesa, unique terroir
Gandesa's landscapes are, since time immemorial, of vineyards and olive trees. Its fruits, the grape and the olive, are the two pillars on which our ancient Mediterranean culture rests.
The History
To start the history of the Cooperative you have to go back to the beginning of the 20th century. In 1901, the Gandesa vineyards were devastated by phylloxera. Farmers planted American root vines.
The Building
Designed by the architect Cèsar Martinell, the Gandesa Cooperative Winery is today considered one of the Cathedrals of wine and is listed as a Cultural Asset of National Interest and one of the seven wonders of Catalonia.
DO Terra Alta
The DO Terra Alta is located in the south of Catalonia, between the river Ebro and the lands of Matarranya (Aragon), and includes 12 municipalities. The main city of the denomination is Gandesa.
Awards
The wines of the Cooperative have been highly awarded in national and international events and obtain high scores in the main wine guides of our country.
